Digital EMA Salon in NYC
The legendary 21 Club in Manhattan played host to Digital EMA's Salon on Monday, April 22nd. Thirty five attendees from the digital video space were on hand for networking, presentations and group discussions about digital entertainment. Ted Cohen from TAG Strategic moderated a lively discussion on "Innovation and Disruption: The Marketing Challenge in Entertainment & Media", and sponsors ContentBridge and Inception Digital Services gave presentations as well.
EMA's Annual Digital Forum
EMA convened a meeting of digital entertainment retailers, content owners, and technology providers in Las Vegas on January 8 to hear reports on the recommendations developed by EMA’s digital working groups. Working group members presented the latest versions of EMA’s avails standards, metadata standards, mezzanine file standards, image file specifications, and best practices for closed captioning of Internet video. EMA intends the recommendations to result in a more efficient and cost-effective digital supply chain. The recommendations and more information on these initiatives can be found at Committees/Councils. Photos>>> Standards & Best Practices Doc and Presentation Slides>>>
Second Digital Media Salon Held
Another thought proving discussion at the EMA/TAG Salon last Monday night in Manhattan.
A diverse group across the digital supply chain, including companies such as Amazon, Dish, Image Entertainment,Constellation.tv, BBC, New Video, Warner Music Group and many others, spent ninety minutes discussing and debating how consumers discover new content and how retailers/distributors/content providers can help. (Ted Cohen was a great moderator as always!)
Our evening's sponsor Fans.tv presented their "second screen" solution to support TV programming. And, Stuzzi at 928 Broadway was the perfect venue (and the food was great, too)!
Our next Salon is being scheduled back in North Hollywood in early summer, leading up to EMA’s 4th Digital Media Pipeline to be held at the Skirball Institute in Los Angeles on October 3.
